Nursery (update in progress)
About Our Nursery
Children may join our Nursery Class the term after their 3rd birthday. Parents are able to make use of the 15 hours of universal funded provision that all children are entitled to in the term after their third birthday. Children may attend on a part-time or full-time basis.
Further details for 30 hour funding can be found here
Parents/carers are not charged any administrative fees by the school to access their child's funded hours.
Our Nursery Sessions
Our sessions run Monday to Friday, term-time only, as follows:
Morning session: 8.30am-11.30am
Afternoon session: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
All day session: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Each session that is privately paid for (i.e. outside of funded hours) will be charged at the rate of £30 per session via our online app, Arbor.
We only allow parents/carers to pay 'hourly' if their child stays for an extended hour (following the morning session) for the lunchtime period and this is charged at £7.50 per day.
Lunches & Snacks
We provide of fruit from the school which is free of charge.
If you child attends full time (30 Hours) they will need to bring a healthy packed lunch.
Non-Consumables
Our Nursery holds a very limited supply of certain items that may be required in an emergency and there is no charge for this. However, we would ask that parents/carers send children in with a supply of nappies, waste bags, wipes, spare clothes and other items that their child may require as necessary.
Extra Activities
Throughout the year Nursery are often offered the chance to take part in school trips or workshops that take place within school. There is usually a small fee if you want your child to take part.
Nursery Admissions
Please note that attending our Nursery does not give children an automatic space within our Reception class when they reach compulsory school age. Parents will have to apply for a space in the usual way, via Thurrock Council’s website, (primary admissions) when it is time to do so.+
All Nursery places are allocated in accordance with the school’s Nursery Admissions Policy
The headteacher very much encourages parents to get in touch so that a tour of the Nursery can be arranged and so that we get an opportunity to meet with you and your child.
In the first instance, parents will be asked to complete a short application form so that your child can be added to our waiting list. Parents will then be contacted during the term before your child’s expected start date, at which point the school will confirm if a place is available.
If you decide to accept the space for your child you will be asked to complete and return a full application pack and provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate and passport (if they have one) as well as evidence of your address (such as a recent council tax bill) and, where applicable, a certificate of Baptism.
If your child is offered a place we will discuss and confirm a start date with you. If you think that your child will need some time to settle in then a reduced timetable can be arranged until they are comfortable. Where possible we will attempt to invite you and your child to a stay-and-play session prior to their start date.
