Our pupils lead the school in a wide range of ways, from the Faith Council and the School Council to the Eco team and House Captains; the children's ideas, enthusiasm and verve drive our school every day. 

The Faith Council

We work with Mrs Smith to plan and lead prayer across the school.  We read in Mass, during Collective Worship and lead during our class liturgies.   Sometimes, during Collective Worship, we lead the acting and singing with actions. 

The Faith Council work hard to raise money for a variety of charities such as BCCS, CAFOD, Thurrock Foodbank, The Royal British Legion and many more.   We try hard to ensure that everyone is treated fairly in school and with kindness. 

School Council

We work with Miss Kreuder on making our school the best place it can possibly be.  We represent our classes to ensure that everyone's ideas and voices are heard. 

We do a whole range of things, from selecting new playground equipment and choosing books for the library, to greeting visitors and running competitions. 

We are currently working on becoming a Rights Respecting School and we are at the beginning of our journey. 

 

The Eco Team

We work with Mrs Nixon to help St Mary's play its part in saving the planet.   In Laudato Si and Laudato Deum Pope Francis reminds us that we have one world and we must look after it.    He describes it as "Our Common Home" which means it's for everyone. 

Some of our projects have included our Forest School space, Eco Day, Walk to School Week as well as running competitions and helping everyone to know about Pope Francis' message.
